Group makes Obici House proposal public
Citizens for the Preservation of Obici House — which submitted an unsolicited proposal last week seeking approval of a plan to renovate and reuse the historic Obici House — has provided that proposal for public review here.
Members of the Suffolk Professional Firefighters Union also have submitted an unsolicited proposal for the former home of Suffolk philanthropist Amedeo Obici. However, the union declined to make that proposal available to the public.
“Once it’s accepted, it’ll come out,” union President Mason Copeland said this week. “I don’t want to put the project in jeopardy.”
City officials declined last week to reveal the process by which the two proposals would be evaluated.
