Jacqueline Pierce Parker

Jacqueline Pierce Parker, 81, of Suffolk, Va., passed away on Nov. 4, 2012. A native of Sunbury, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Joseph Pierce and Lessie Ward Pierce. She was also predeceased by her husband, Jack Riddick Parker; and sisters and brother: Marjorie Galloway, Dorothy Denton, J.T. “Pee Wee” Pierce. She retired as a secretary for Mid-Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company. She was also a member of Somerton United Methodist Church and the Emulators Sunday School class.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Kay and Billy Nelson and Susan and Keith Baines; sons and daughter-in-law: Bill and Debbie Parker and Riddick Parker, all of Suffolk; six grandchildren: Will and Christina Parker, Kristi and Jason Bridges, Justin and Robin Nelson, Chase and Tonya Nelson, Parker Baines and Morgan Baines; six great-grandchildren: Cheyenne, Payton, Kenly, Hannah, Maddox and Aubrey.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Somerton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sylvia Cooper and the Rev. Becky Gwaltney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may join the family at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation.
