Bertha W. Ford, 78, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Gates County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Howard and Seabyrd Williams. She was also predeceased by her husband, James Willie Ford.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son Willie “Winzel” Ford (Olivia); a daughter, Tabatha Ford; two sisters, Martha Riddick and Sallie Moody (Bennie); five grandchildren, Terrell Godwin, Tachela Godwin, Ryan Winborne, Courtney Ford and Ayanna Harris; and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at First Baptist Church Mahan today at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy and flowers may be extended to the family at www.cookeovertonfuneralhome.com.
