Police are seeking a Newport News man wanted on 18 felony charges, including some for passing six counterfeit checks in Suffolk.

Dwight Bernard Jones, 61, is accused of passing the checks at Friendly Check Cashing in the 200 block of East Washington Street and Bunny’s Pawn in the 100 block of West Washington Street between Aug. 16 and Sept. 22, according to city spokeswoman Debbie George.

Jones is described as a black male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. His last known address is the 6000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Newport News.

Anyone with information on Jones’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Callers to Crime Line never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
