Two people suffered minor injuries in an early-morning wreck on Wednesday.
A Perdue refrigerated tractor-trailer was involved in the wreck, along with a passenger vehicle. The driver and passenger in the car were ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to a press release from city spokeswoman Diana Klink.
The accident occurred about 2:46 a.m. in the 1900 block of Portsmouth Boulevard eastbound. Because it involved a diesel fuel spill, cleanup took several hours, and rush-hour traffic was affected. All lanes were reopened by 10:30 a.m., Klink said.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was issued a summons for reckless driving, Klink added.
