Car dealership owner Michael Duman has defeated retired healthcare executive M. Caroline Martin to represent the Chuckatuck borough on City Council.

The seat was left open by the retirement of Councilman Joe Barlow, who served for the last five years after being appointed in 2005 and winning election in 2006.

Duman and Martin fought a tough race, with numerous donors opening their wallets for Martin. Duman financed his campaign himself.
