To the editor:
I am writing to voice my strong support for Dorothy Gamble for Suffolk School Board, representing the Chuckatuck borough. No candidate is better qualified.
While her highest level of academic achievement, the Certificate of Advanced Studies degree from Old Dominion University, is impressive, there are other achievements for which she also should be recognized.
Before you cast your vote, consider that Dorothy has had extensive training and experience working with at-risk youth for many years as staff development instructor for Chesapeake Public Schools. She also has been recognized by the Suffolk Substance Abuse Council for her work.
Dorothy is a person who likes a challenge and never shies away from her problems, but seeks to solve them. She is a visionary and an implementer and has been recognized for her creativity and expertise in the large and flourishing special needs ministry at her church, Westminster Reformed Presbyterian.
Dorothy accepts responsibility readily and excels in her field as adjunct professor at Norfolk State University.
Not only can Dorothy relate well to professionals and students, but she has successfully raised two sons, one a Virginia Tech graduate and the other now a student at Hope College in Michigan. She can easily identify with parents.
Dorothy’s engaging, positive personality, strong work ethic and wealth of experience and abilities make her the absolute best candidate for School Board.
I hope you will case your vote for Dorothy Gamble on Nov. 2.
