Robbie L. Crocker

Mrs. Robbie L. Crocker, of 2421 E. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., entered into eternal rest and peace on Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at her residence.
Mrs. Crocker was born in Nansemond County, Suffolk, Va., and was the second daughter of the late Rev. Junius Lee and Mary Lee. She was the widow of Linton Crocker. She was predeceased by two sisters, Rosa Lee and Mable Haywood, and two brothers, William Lee and Joseph Lee. She attended the public schools of Suffolk, graduating from East Suffolk High School in 1942. She then began a 43-year working stint at the former Planters Nut and Chocolate Company, where she retired in 1985 as a machine operator.
She became a member of the Tabernacle Christian Church as a young adult and maintained her membership there until her death. She was one of the founding members of the Willing Workers Club, where she served as treasurer until her health concerns prevented her from continuing in this capacity.
She is survived by a devoted daughter and son-in-law, LaVerne and Allen Jordan Sr.; a sister, Louella Smith; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Her homegoing service will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Tabernacle Christian Church, officiated by Bishop Carlton R. Upton Sr. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery. Peebles Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
