Hester Aretha “Rea” Taylor, 82, of 1207 Carrsville Highway Apt. 18C, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010 in Courtland Healthcare Center.

She was born in Courtland, Va., and was a member of St. Luke United Church of Christ.

Those left to mourn her passing include three daughters, Virginia L. Taylor, of Franklin, Va., Peggy T. Bradshaw (Melvin Sr.), of Suffolk, Va., and an adopted daughter, Bernet Green, of Franklin, Va.; five grandchildren, Deborah Parker (Travis), Sharon Taylor, Raymond Bradshaw (Melissa), Melvin Bradshaw Jr. and Shakunda Edmonds (Ronnie Jr.); 13 great-grandchildren; one uncle, the Rev. Freddie Hines (Leona); one sister-in-law, Alma Taylor; extended family the Dickerson family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 at St. Luke United Church of Christ, Sedley, Va., by the Rev. Dr. J.J. Ferguson. A wake will be held on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Engram Funeral Home, 1001 Armory Drive, Franklin, VA 23851. Burial will occur in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Sussex County, Va.
