A truck and tractor pull in Isle of Wight County on Saturday will feature nine events for the entire family to enjoy.
“People like the excitement of seeing who’s going to be the top puller,” said Lee Hooker, owner of Hooker Up Motorsports.
The event begins Saturday at 3 p.m. at Heritage Park, 21311 Courthouse Highway, Windsor. Gates open at 1 p.m. Admission is $12 per person, with children 10 and under free.
Events will include 6,400-pound Super Street Pickups, 6,200-pound National Modified Trucks, 8,050-pound Street Diesel Pickups, 7,000-pound Street Gas Pickups, 8,500-pound Modified Turbo Tractors, 13,500-pound Farm Field Stock Tractors, 11,000-pound Pro Farm Tractors, Super Stock Semi-Trucks and Street Semi-Trucks.
“A lot of people that come say it’s the best they’ve ever been to,” Hooker said. “There’s a lot of fun and excitement.”
Hooker makes the truck pull family-friendly by prohibiting alcohol on the grounds and allowing children 10 and under in free.
“It’s kind of like a family sport,” he said. “There’s a lot of close-knit families that come and support their family members pulling.”
