Grace Wilson Mason

SUFFOLK — Grace Wilson Mason, 86, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012. She is predeceased by her parents, Annie Laura and James Marion Wilson, and her beloved husband of 60 years, Clayton Mason.

She is survived by her three sons, Randall W. Mason, of Suffolk, Dennis H. and Janie Mason, of Huntington W.Va., and Nathan C. and Kathy Mason, of Smithfield, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Heather and Scott Wiggins, John and Brandy Mason, all of Suffolk, Kris and Emily Mason, of Charlottesville, Kira, Kinsey and Jordan Mason, all of Huntington, W.Va., Robyn and Matt Harper, of Royse City, Texas, Kaye and Channing Byrd and Nathan E. Mason, of Smithfield, N.C.; 11 great-grandchildren, Gavin and Mason Wiggins, Dylan, Lilliana and Isabella Mason, Connor Mason, Peyton Maddy, Tyler Harper, Taylor, Jade and DJ Dabney; sisters and brother, Mabel W. Byrum, of Emporia, Va., Hannah W. Hogan and Anna W. Roberson, of Suffolk, and James H. Wilson, of Lake Kiowa, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grace was a member of Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and was a member of the Women’s Ministries. She worked for Planters Peanuts for 20 years and then opened her home as a daycare to many children of Suffolk for over 20 years. Grace loved the Lord, her family and working in her flower beds. She was loved by all that knew her and will be missed very much.

A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Don Milner on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at noon in the R.W. Baker & Company Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va., with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Marcus Riggs. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and all other times of the residence of Scott and Heather Wiggins. Condolences may be registered at www.rwbakerfh.com.
