Grace Lops Sibilia, 86, passed away Sept. 24, 2010. She was born in Corato, Italy, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Quinto Lops. Grace worked as a seamstress for numerous years. She was predeceased by her husband, John B. Sibilia, and her granddaughter, Hunter Elizabeth Jones. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Presentation in Suffolk, Va., and later became a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Virginia Beach.
Grace is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Grace S. and Mark Jones, of Virginia Beach, Va.; sons and daughters-in-law, John and Terry Sibilia, of Gansevoort, N.Y., and Sal and Tammy Sibilia, of Windsor, Va.; grandchildren, Josh Sibilia (Jennifer), Sarae S. Joyner (Michael), Dan Sibilia, Kristen Sibilia, Katelyn Jones and Natalie Jones; great-grandchildren, Ava Joyner and Caleb Sibilia; sisters, Tina Palli and Rosa Sibilia, both of Italy; numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass of resurrection will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Presentation with Father Steve DeLeon officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed on Monday night at 6 p.m., led by the Knights of Columbus, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, Va., followed by a visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
