Among the events Lake Prince Woods plans to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year is an art show featuring residents’ works of art.
The show will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Portsmouth Center on the LPW campus. It is open to the public.
“We’ve had a very wide variety of entries,” Resident Services Director Denise Brown said. “Many of the residents continue to actively pursue their artistic endeavors, while others will be exhibiting works they’ve done in previous years.”
A number of paintings, both acrylic and watercolor, will be on display, as will samples of porcelain china painting. Among the types of handwork to be exhibited will be needlepoint, crochet, counted cross stitch, quilts and hooked rugs. Photography, bird carvings and wood jewelry also will be shown.
The nonprofit residential retirement community is located off King’s Fork Road, bordering Lake Prince. For more information, contact Denise Brown at 923-5500 or visit www.lakeprincewoods.org.
