Mildred B. Stephens, 91, of 110 Lewis Ave., Suffolk passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 in Sentara Obici Hospital.

She was a native of Maysville, N.C., and the daughter of the late William Alex Cobb and Vivian Holt Cobb. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard Stephens.

She retired from Planters Peanut Company. She was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Darlene Boone of Suffolk; one brother, Frederick Cobb (Lezma) of Suffolk; a sister-in-law, Jean Cobb; a brother-in-law, Harry Boone; nieces, Sharon Cobb, Shelia Cobb, Chanda Boone, Crystal Cobb and Keisha Cobb; nephews, Wayne Cobb (Alice), Clinton Cobb (Valerie) and Chris Cobb; several great nieces and nephews; caregiver Rosa Battle; and other relatives and friends.

The Rev. Vaurice Chambers will officiate a graveside service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 420 Kilby Avenue, Suffolk.
