Carrie Johnson Ingram, 59, of 2213 Florida Ave., Suffolk, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was a native of Suffolk, Va., and the daughter of the late William T. Johnson and Mary C. Johnson.
She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School. She was employed as a packer for 13 years at Smithfield Packing Company.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Richard M. Ingram; two sisters, Mildred A. Bowers, of Suffolk, and Ethel M. Winborne (Thomas), of Richmond; three brothers, Billy C. Johnson (Mary), Johnnie L. Johnson, both of Suffolk, William M. Johnson (Glenda), of Sellers, S.C.; devoted sister-in-law, Mary Johnson, of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Carrie W. Adams, of Clinton, Md., Bennie Lenora Nicholson, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; Marie Dunlap (Eugene), of Hamlet, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Thomas Ingram (Shirley), of Fayetteville, N.C., Louis Eugene Gibson (Linda), of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 in St. Timothy Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Thomas E. Harden Jr. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at 2213 Florida Ave. and 661 Adkins Circle, both in Suffolk.
