A Suffolk man died in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Norfolk.

David A. Wright Jr., 39, of the 6000 block of Old College Drive, was driving the 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle involved in the single-vehicle accident.

According to Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya, the accident happened about 4:40 p.m. on Interstate 64 near the North Military Highway exit. The motorcycle was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control near the exit ramp. He was thrown from the motorcycle.

Alcohol was not a factor in the wreck, Anaya added.
