Christopher M. Fitzwater, 28, passed away July 25, 2012, in Suffolk.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Crystal Aswell Fitzwater, and precious daughter, Britton Marie “Baby B”; his mother, Debra Duke Spratley, of Suffolk; brothers, Gilbert Fitzwater III and wife, Christy, and Robert Fitzwater, of Suffolk; sister, Elizabeth Hatfield, of Suffolk; father, Gilbert Fitzwater and wife, Robin, and siblings, Callie and Matthew, of Nags Head, N.C.; grandparents, Anne “Cornbread” and Jackie Wright and Randolph Duke, all from Suffolk; uncle, Robert “Bobo” Fitzwater, of Wanchese, N.C.; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Brenda Aswell, of Suffolk; sisters-in-law, Claire Tankersley and husband, Mark, of Pensacola, Fla.; Amy Carr and husband, Jason, of Suffolk; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Chris is also survived by his furry best friend, Pete, as well as Lucy, Dip and Bella.

He was a wonderful husband, great father, avid hunter with Community Hunt Club in Suffolk, and loved to fish on his new boat or with his Uncle Bobo. Chris was the co-owner of Suffolk Air Inc. with his brother Gilbert. He was a hard-working man who would have done anything needed for any of his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established at Bayport Credit Union for Britton Marie Fitzwater.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. in Eureka Baptist Church, 1601 NC Hwy 32 N, Corapeake, N.C., by the Rev. Mickey Willard, with burial in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, on Friday, July 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family will be accepting family and friends at Amy and Jason Carr’s home, 4621 Adams Swamp Road, Suffolk.
