Neva Mullen Flood, of 116 Sumner St., passed away Sept. 9, in the comfort of her home. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Clyde and Sarah Victoria Mullen and the widow of Charlton Flood Sr.
Mrs. Flood had served as a musician for First Baptist Church Orlando and Diamond Grove Baptist Church. She was a faithful and lifetime member of Mineral Spring Baptist Church and a former member of the Golden Age Club of the church. She was also a past member of the Holland Chapter #162 of the Order of Eastern Star, P.H.A. She was a graduate of the former East Suffolk High School.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son and his wife, Charlton and Marion D. Flood, of Suffolk; brother, John Clyde Mullen, of Baltimore; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008 at Mineral Spring Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Charlie W. Poulson Jr. Interment will be in the Langston Cemetery.
