Cade Jones III

Dr. Cade Jones III, 65, of Brooklyn, N.Y., went home to the Lord Feb. 3, 2009.
Cade was born Oct. 9, 1943, to the late Cad Jones Jr. and the late Mary Alice Jones in Tarboro, N.C. When he was 15 months old, his family relocated to Suffolk, Va. He was a 1962 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, of Suffolk, Va. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After his discharge from the Army, he relocated to New York, N.Y.
He was the pastor of St. Luke’s Community Church, of Brownsville (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 45 years, Eleanor Clarine Jones; children, Thaddeus Jones, of Washington, D.C., Reginald Jones and Venus Jones, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Dorothy Ricks and Carolyn White (Thomas), of New Haven, Conn., Wilda Davis (Daryl) and Lori Branch (Jerry), of Suffolk, Va.; brothers, Norris Jones and Keith Jones, of Suffolk, Va., Richard Jones (Sharron), of Aiken, S.C., grandchildren, Jerome and Shadora, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing was held Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Luke’s Community Church, of Brownsville, in Brooklyn, N.Y. The homegoing service was held at 5 p.m. at the same location.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Lawrence H. Woodward Funeral Home, Inc. in Brooklyn, N.Y.
