Suffolk police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred Tuesday night.

Robert Allen Maone, 45, of Chesapeake, was traveling southbound on Bridge Road on a motorcycle when he struck another vehicle about 11 p.m., according to a news release from the city.

He suffered severe head injuries and was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about four hours after the accident.

The accident remains under investigation, the release said. Officer Timothy Mason is the lead investigator.
