Jimmy James Lankford, 47, of the 600 block of Hemlock Avenue, Hampton, passed away June 1, 2009, at his home. He was a native of Surry County and son of the late Mae L. Norman.
He attended John F. Kennedy High School, Suffolk, and he was employed at Smithfield Packing Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Jamie Darden, Jacinta Darden, of Suffolk, and Tunisia Nichols (Glenn), of Hampton, Va.; two grandchildren, Davon Darden and Bradford Knight; one sister, Mariah M. Moody; three brothers, Ollie Lankford Jr., Harry L. Lankford and Eddie Lankford; a best friend, Wayne Harrison; close friend, Dorothy Brooks; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will be at 925 Brook Ave., Apt. 160, Suffolk (entrance on Kilby Avenue side).
