SEATTLE, Wash. – Robert E. Jackson, 90, a former resident of Suffolk, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in Seattle, Wash.
Mr. Jackson was a native of Kingston, N.C. He had practiced law in Suffolk from 1951 to 1962 and then moved to Seattle. Mr. Jackson was a former member of East End Baptist Church, where he served as church treasurer. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He was also affiliated with the Nansemond-Suffolk Credit Union long with the founder, Dr. C.J. Word. Mr. Jackson was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Evelyn H. Jackson, of Seattle; one daughter, Princess Jackson-Smith, of Olympia Wash.; one son, Robert E. Jackson, of Seattle; one sister, Princess Flugg, of Albany, N.Y.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
