Dorothy “Chrissy” Patricia Sessoms, 50, a native of Suffolk, Va., entered into eternal rest during the morning hours of Saturday, July 18 in Jonesborough, Ga. Chrissy was born to the late Joe Sessoms Jr. and Dorothy Ann Tann Sessoms on Nov. 15, 1958 in Suffolk, Va.
Chrissy was a 1978 graduate of Forest Glen High School. She was well known throughout the Suffolk community for providing medical transport services.
Chrissy leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish her beautiful memory, a son, Brandon Joe Sessoms; granddaughter, Kyasia Sessoms; two grandsons, Dontise D. Sessoms and Zishaun D. Sessoms; stepson, Donald L. Gatling (Ashley); devoted niece, Taquanda T.R. Sessoms; three sisters, Barbara J. Scott, Shirley L. Hudson and Cathy R. Maynor (Barry); two brothers, Lonnie J. Sessoms (Crystal) and Earnest M. Sessoms (Marjorie); two aunts, Lula M. Artis and Mary Riddick; uncle, Johnny V. Sessoms; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; one great-great-nephew; cousins other family and friends.
Ms. Sessoms will be on view from noon to 6:30 p.m., and a wake service will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 23 at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at 2018 Regency Drive at all other times. Ms. Sessoms will lie-in-state at Faith Community Holy Church of America, from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m., Friday, July 24. Interment will immediately follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors at 2018 Regency Drive at all other times. A home going service in memory of Ms. Sessoms will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 24 in the Rev. Melvin R. Boone Chapel of T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
