SUFFOLK — Willie Lee Powell, 77, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory 10 children, Wanda Powell Allen, Wilhemia Powell, Willie Powell Jr., Timothy Powell, Michael Powell, Cheryl McCray Small, Faye McCray Farrell, Melissa Parish Winborne, Marvin Parish and Randy Parish; a sister, Catherina Briggs-Ross, and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Powell will be on view from noon to 7 p.m. and the family will greet visitors from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 27 at the funeral home. The family will receive guests at the residence of Ms. Julia Powell, 106 Jordan Circle, at all other times. A service of remembrance will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 28 at Healing Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will immediately follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
