Johnnie Deloatch departed this life Aug. 28, 2009 in Sentara Obici Hospital. He is the son of the late Johnnie Deloatch and Laura Tillery Deloatch. He was also predeceased by his wife, Janice Deloatch, brothers, Robert Deloatch and John Deloatch, and sister, Brenda Deloatch.
Mr. Deloatch retired from the city of Norfolk.
He is survived by his son, Juan Deloatch; three stepchildren; five sisters, Ada Deloatch, Helen Wright, of Suffolk, Va., Barbara Harris (Alphonso), of Sickeville, N.J., Gloria Joseph (Jesse), of Chesapeake, Va., and Evelyn Deloatch, of Suffolk; two brothers, Leroy Deloatch, of Suffolk, and Anthony Deloatch, of Sickeville, N.J.; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at New Mount Vernon Baptist Church, 3555 Victory Blvd., Portsmouth, Va. The family will receive friends at 517 Osceola Ave.
