SUFFOLK — Mildred E. Jordan peacefully passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1940 to the late James Eure and Florence Cross.
She was employed at Planters Peanuts for 25 years before retiring in 1993.
Mildred leaves behind three stepchildren, Cynthia Jordan, Gloria Jordan and John Jordan Jr.; two sisters, Starlee Bobb (Kenneth) and Ethel Evans (Robert) and a host of other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 19 at the funeral home. A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 at Antioch United Church of Christ, where the Rev. Jarvis Jones is pastor. Interment will immediately follow in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
