James Richard Brown, 91, of Suffolk died Jan. 8, 2010. He was a retired VDOT inspector and a private detective.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3515 Robs Dr., Suffolk, with the Rev. Jim George officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Capeville Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may join the family other times at the residence of Donnie and Adele Brown.
