Michael Giavante’ Lee, 17, of 503 Wekiva Ave., quietly slipped away on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Michael, affectionately known as Bake Beanz, was born on July 23, 1992 in Silver Spring, Maryland.
A native of Suffolk, Michael was a senior at Lakeland High School where he served on both the football and track team.
Michael leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved mother, Karen Lee; stepfather, Gayland Hart; brother, DaShawn M. Lee; grandmother, Sheila Hunter; special aunt, Beverly Marion; aunt, Robin Hunter; two uncles, Darrell D. Lee and Anthony Anderson; special friend, Denise Jones, and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Roberta Lee, and uncle, Clinton Lee.
A visitation will be held from noon to 6 p.m., with wake service from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 15 at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at the residence at all other times. A service of remembrance will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 16 at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries. Michael will be laid to rest in the T.E. Cooke-Overton Garden of Carver Memorial Cemetery.
