Murry Passqual “Possie” Hawkins, 56, slipped into eternity on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 in his home. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Charlie Hawkins and Lillian V. Boone Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Hawkins, and his niece, Latoria Hawkins.
He was a former employee of Birdsong Peanut Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Stephanie Hawkins; six children, Farrie Davis, Shawna Davis, Mary Davis, Isiah Davis, Lamont Davis, Soloman Hawkins, all of Suffolk; three stepchildren, Teresea Boone, Alvin Boone, Kelvin Boone; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Jean Dyanna Brown (Earnest), Clara Reid Hawkins (Gary), both of Suffolk; one brother, Lyman B. Boone, of Delmar, Del.; one uncle, Cromwell Boone, of Delmar, Del.; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 26, 2010 in Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Roland Brown. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A wake will be Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 2 to 6 p.m. Viewing will only be done at the wake. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
