Richard Williamson

SUFFOLK, Va. — Richard Lynn Williamson, 72, was killed tragically in an automobile accident on April 26, 2010.
Richard was born in Lynchburg, Va., in 1937. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, and entered the work force. Richard retired from the Elevator Union after a successful career, and was working for H&R Block as a courier and handyman. Richard also worked for many years for Tidewater Feed and Seed in Portsmouth.
Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Williamson; four children, Dennis L. Williamson and fiancé, Laurie Koesters, Jerry A. Williamson and wife, Kathy, Rick Williamson and wife, Kristy, and Donna L. Thomas and husband, Rick; grandchildren, B.J. Turner, Wendi Williamson, Amy Markowitz and husband, James, Michael Petersen, D.J. Williamson, Travis Evans and Christopher Evans. Richard is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Myers and Bob, and Beulah Priest and husband, Jerry; and sister-in-law Gloria Merritt and husband, Dave.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at Nansemond River Baptist Church, 2896 Bridge Road, Suffolk, VA 23435, with visitation hours from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, 5685 Lee Farm Lane, Suffolk, VA 23435.
