Mrs. Sarah E. Whitley, 811 Ashley Ave., departed this earthly life on May 15, 2010 in Sentara Leigh Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Ned and Beatrice Little Newsome.
Her survivors include her sister, Inez Goodwin (James); a devoted friend for 32 years, William Vaughan; six nieces, Annette Vaughn (Alvester), Lola Price, Mary Harris (David), Jeannette Riddick (Joseph), and Lisa Jones; one nephew, James Goodwyn Jr., all of Suffolk; and a host of other family and friends.
A graveside funeral will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at noon at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Minister Ron Vinson will officiate. Harris Funeral Home has been entrusted with the home going service.
