SUFFOLK — Theresa Ann Harper, 39, of the 300 block of Jackson Street, Suffolk, passed away June 1, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Suffolk and a 1989 graduate of Suffolk High School. She was a companion nurse.
Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Lee Benton. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Leslie A. Harper; one daughter, Ishanique Benton, of Suffolk; one son, Kenyatta Benton, of Suffolk; her mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Willie Gray Sr.; three brothers, Joseph Benton (Joanna), of Fredericksburg, Willie Gray Jr. (Angel), and Phillip Gray (Tai), of Suffolk; maternal grandmother, Nonie Cherry, of Suffolk; paternal grandmother, Nellie Gray, of Suffolk; three sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at New Mount Joy Food for Living Ministries. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
