Clifton White

Clifton White, 61, of 230 Drum Hill Road, Corapeake, N.C., passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Nansemond County, Va., and the son of Edward E. Dildy, of Gates, N.C., and the late Cleo W. Dildy. He was predeceased by his wife, Carrie White, and one brother, James White.
He attended Central High School. Clifton retired from Planters after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Stephenson Holiness Church.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Aretha “Nikki” Earls (Stan), of Gates, N.C., Danyell Smith and Joan White, both of Corapeake, N.C.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Eure and Alice Wilkins, both of Suffolk; five sisters-in-law, Erma White, of Gates, N.C., Betty Baker, Venora White (Curtis), Lenora Harrell, Delois Jones (Tommy); brothers-in-law, Lloyd Norman (Catherine), Larry Baker (Angela), James Baker (Gloria); one aunt, Betty Goodman; three uncles, William Wilkins (Delois), Clinton Dildy (Francis), William Thomas Dildy (Eleanora); brother at heart, Curtis White; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at New Piney Wood Chapel Baptist Church in Gates, N.C., officiated by Elder David Williams. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
