On June 25, 2010, God dispatched his angel to call home our loved one, Karen Denise Eley. Karen was born on Aug. 13, 1974 to the late Mary Elizabeth Faulk and Ocie Lee Boone. She was a native of Suffolk, Va., and attended Lakeland High School. At her time of death, she was an employee of Miller Oil Company and Happy Shopper. Karen was a consistent attendant of New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries.
Karen leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband, Michael Eley; beloved father, Ocie Lee Boone; two custodial children, Phorja Jennings and Lelani Boone; stepdaughter, Octavia Walker; two special children, Janel Scott and MaShawn Scott; godchild, Maziyah Artis; one step-grandchild, Jervell Blink Jr.; two brothers, Michael Holloman (Jacqueline) and Jerry King; mother-in-law, Vernice Artis; stepfather-in-law, Charlie Artis; two brothers-in-law, Mark Eley and Charles Artis; a devoted and special friend, Gail Jones; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, more family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at New Mt. Joy Food For Living Ministries, officiated by Pastor Viola Parker and Dr. Earl Boone, eulogist. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
