Mae Bean Dixon
Mae Bean Dixon, 71, died Thursday, August 12, 1999 in Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 16, 1999, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Seddeth officiating. Burial will follow at New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
She was born April 7, 1928 and was the daughter of Jim and Susie Bean. She was a member of the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Bobbie Dixon, eight daughters, Mary H. (Johnnie) Foster of Birmingham; Flora Moultry; Mary Ann King of Birmingham; Susie Wise; Lucille Anderson; Clara Cooper, Annette Moultry; Janette Moultry of Troy; three sons, John E. (Janice) Moultry; Eugene (Cora) Moultry of Birmingham; Garnell Moultry of Ft. Walton, Fla.; 39 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one brother, A.C. Bean of Troy; one sister, Lorine Bean of Troy; six sisters-in-law, Ludie Bean; Maurine Bean, Ora L. Simmons of Troy; Mattie Griffin of Cleveland, Ohio; Bessie Moore of Mobile; Mary Dixon of Montgomery; one brother-in-law, Roosevelt Moore of Mobile; two stepsons, John Dixon of Rock Island, Ill.; Otis L. Dixon of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held between 3:00 and 6:00 Sunday, August 15, 1999.
Squire David Jones
Squire David Jones, a resident of Brundidge died Wednesday, August 11, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, August 16, 1999 at County Line Baptist Church with Rev. O.L. Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.
Family hour 7-8 p.m.
Ray M. Shipman
Ray M. Shipman, 57, of Troy died Saturday, August 14, 1999 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 17, 1999 at First Baptist Church of Troy with the Rev. Ed Walter officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife Martha Shipman of Troy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Donny Barron of Troy and Vicki and Jeff Pinson of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Cody Barron of Troy and Hannah Pinson of North Carolina; his mother, Mary Shipman of Troy; three sisters, Aloma Morin of Troy, Wanda Eutsler of Michigan, and Kathy Mecklenburg of Illinois. He was preceeded in death by his father Ray Shipman of Troy.
He was a long-time building contractor in Pike County. For the past seven years he was the building official for the city of Troy. He was also a deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Troy. Shipman graduated from Troy High School in 1960 and attended Troy State University.
Pallbearers will be Mike Harrell, Larry Meeks, Junior Register, Louie Richburg, Basil Drake and Columbus Wynn.
Visitation will be held at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy from 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, August 16, 1999.
