Mattie M. Douglas
Mattie M. Douglas, 52, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Troy, died Tuesday, October 5, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident in Florida.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. L.C. McMillian, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Carroll Street Cemetery in Troy with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.
She was born October 27, 1946 in Troy, Ala. and was the daughter of Lucy M. King and the late Oliver King, Sr. She attended the public schools of Troy.
Survivors include her mother, Lucy M. King of Troy; her husband, Willie Douglas of Sarasota, Florida; two sons, Earnest (Cathy) Gissendanner and James Spears, both of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters, Catherine (Herman) Whaley; Lillie Mae (Willie) Baker and Alberta (Willie) Cooks, all of Troy; three brothers, Oliver (JoAnn) King, Jr.; Willie J. King and Benjamin (Bernice) King, all of Troy; two grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers and flower bearers will be Charles Henderson High School Class of 1987.
Ethel H. Fuller
Ethel H. Fuller of Troy died Monday, October 11, 1999 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at Green Hills Memorial Park with Dr. Ed Walter officiating and Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.
She was a retired teacher having taught in the public school system for many years. She was a member of several educational organizations and a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Fuller.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jim Crawley, Jimmy Renfroe, Tommy Peacock and Averyt Walker, former students.
Visitation will be held between 12:50 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
M.D. (Sonny) Harman
M.D. (Sonny) Harmon, 71, of Troy died Monday, October 11, 1999, at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at Jernigan Methodist Church Cemetery in Russell County with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.
Survivors include his wife, Faye M. Harman of Troy; two sons, Glenn H. Harman of Prattville; Frank B. Harman of Prattville; daughter, Marsha A. Silvers of New Mexico (Holloman Air Force Base); stepchildren, Steven B. Milner of Panama City, Fla.; Darren Roy Milner of Indiana; Jimmy l. Pace of Montgomery; mother, Mildred Wills McGregor of Greensboro, N.C.; and brother, Arthur F. Harman of Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Troy Dialysis.
The family will receive friends between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at 6 River Ridge Road, Troy, Alabama.
Henrietta Lee Hicks
Henrietta Lee Hicks, 86, of Brundidge died Sunday, October 10, 1999 at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999, at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Brundidge with the Rev. Jimmy Spikes officiating. Burial will follow at Brundidge City Cemetery in Brundidge with Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hicks, son-in-law, Joe Strother, and step-mother, Pearl Lee.
Survivors include a daughter, Mayretta H. Strother of Brundidge; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marilyn Lee of Largo, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Joel Youngblood of Brundidge; grandchildren, Joey and Missy Strother of Brundidge; Cindy and Wayne Mitchell of Troy; and Great-grandchildren, Blakely, Michele, Britton, Bobbi Jo, Shelby and Annsley.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Bowden, John P. Johnston, Kenneth Sanders, Dr. Jerry Shiver, Jimmy Caldwell and David Hightower.
Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of First National Bank of Brundidge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brundidge United Methodist Church.

Inavie Smiley Person
Inavie Smiley Person, 82, of Troy died Friday, October 8, 1999 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. L.R. Neal officiating. Burial will follow at New Mt. Zion Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
She was born April 11, 1917 in Pike County and was the daughter of William Smiley and Gussie Williams Smiley. She attended the Troy city schools and was employed as a sales cashier. She was a member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church and her hobbies included fishing and traveling.
Survivors include one brother, Walter Smiley of Troy; one sister, Bessie Lee Jones of Springhill; one son, Percy Weaver, Jr.; a devoted niece, Dorothy Smiley of Troy; and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers and floralbearers will be friends of the family.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 1999, and the body will lie-in-state one hour prior to service on October 13, 1999.
Harvey Lee Searcy, Jr.
Harvey Lee Searcy, Jr., 51, of Deatsville died Sunday, October 10, 1999.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at Leak-Memory Chapel in Montgomery with Chaplain Rick Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.
Survivors include his wife, Terrye J. Searcy; step-children, Katherine Elizabeth Abbott; Tonya and Matt Haley and Robert Halley; mother, Juanita H. Searcy; sister and brother-in-law, Marcia S. and David L. Mason of Birmingham; one nephew, Alan L. Mason; and one niece, Sarah Beth Mason, both of Birmingham.
Visitation will be held between 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at the funeral home.

Elise Thompson Wood, 86, of Troy died Monday, October 11, 1999, at Edge Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 1999, at the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Troy with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamar Wood, and sister, Bernice Smith.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Benny Beard of Troy; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Jackie Wood of Edmond Oklahoma; Richard Michael Wood of Montgomery; seven grandchildren, Dena Fancher of Calif.; Tamera Wood of Edmond, Okla.; Carmen Cox of Memphis, Tenn.; Stephanie Wilson of Memphis, Tenn.; Stacey Beard of Troy; Michael Wood of Macon, Ga.; Dionne Terry of Montgomery; and four great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Trust Department of Troy Bank and Trust.
