A Suffolk man fled from a Norfolk hospital after being taken there with a gunshot wound, police said on Tuesday.
Anthony Sexton, 31, has warrants on file for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless handling of a firearm, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.
Police dispatchers received calls just before 4 p.m. Monday about the shooting in the 100 block of North Capital Street, George said.
Sexton was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by ground ambulance. Investigation revealed that the wound to his arm was self-inflicted, George added.
