Katie Devenuto, a Lakeland High School alumna and member of the Mount Olive College softball team, earned a 4.0 GPA during the 2011-2012 school year.

Devenuto’s perfect grade average was significantly better than even the 2.999 average of all Mount Olive College athletes.

In all, 17 student-athletes, representing 10 teams, recorded 4.0 marks for the 2011-12 school year.

Ten of the institution’s athletic programs finished the year with an average GPA of 3.0 or better: men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, women’s track and field, women’s cross country and women’s lacrosse.
