A coach that has accumulated over 600 wins might have difficulty getting excited after a victory. But from the tone of his voice, the Lake Kennedy Clippers’ 57-56 win over the Norfolk Knights at Booker T. Washington (BTW) Recreation Center was a night that Clippers’ coach Michael White wouldn’t soon forget.

&uot;That was one of my most exciting games!&uot; said White, who grabbed win number 611 as his team moved to 4-3.

With the Clippers down 39-18 last in the second quarter, Keyshaun Sessoms sank a halfcourt shot at the buzzer to finally give his team some momentum.

During the break, White let his team know that the game was far from over. &uot;I told them that this was like a boxing match, and there were two rounds left. They listened well.&uot; In the last two quarters, the Clippers went for the knockout.

&uot;They went back out there with a vengeance. Our communication was on point, and they were focused. The players on the bench were cheering for each other; everything came together.&uot; When the smoke cleared, the Clippers had come all the way back for their biggest comeback of the season.

&uot;I think Clarence (Wilson) is at his highest point ever right now,&uot; White said of Wilson, who scored 32 points. &uot;He really stepped up, but everybody chipped in.

The Clippers’ next game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at BTW.
