Local student enrolls in Virginia Women’s Institute

Andrea LaTae Skeeter of Suffolk will enter the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership (VWIL) at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton today. She is the daughter of Ms. Artis Drake. This innovative leadership program injects a high degree of rigor and structure into the undergraduate experience, adding physical challenge and raising academic requirements. It also instills self discipline and demands an extraordinary level of effort and commitment from its cadets.

Suffolk student graduates from USC

Jason Michael Pecora of Suffolk received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina on Aug. 9.

The school is located in Columbia, S.C.
