A Portsmouth man faces 11 felony charges, including five counts of use of a firearm in an armed robbery, after an Aug. 19 incident in which he an another unknown suspect allegedly robbed five Suffolk residents.

Suffolk Police detectives charged Travis S. Tucker as a result of their investigation into the crimes, which occurred in the 6000 block of Bradford Drive, near College Drive.

The second suspect is still on the loose and being sought by police.

Detective Debbie George and Detective J.M. Jones are investigating the incident. According to George, the investigation revealed that two suspects approached the victims in the street in the northern end of the city, robbing them at gunpoint.

&uot;One of the suspects also forced his way into a home in that area,&uot; George said. &uot;The victim was home alone and the suspect demanded money from her. Fortunately, she was not injured. The suspects took two cell phones from their victims and fled the area with an undetermined amount of cash. We do not yet have a description of the vehicle but this is still under investigation and we do expect to make another arrest.&uot;

After the pair of suspects fled the scene of their crimes, Portsmouth police apprehended Tucker. George said police in that city had active warrants out for him in another unrelated incident.

Tucker now stands alone facing two counts of armed robbery; two counts of attempted armed robbery, one count of abduction, one count of armed burglary and five counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

If convicted of these crimes, Tucker faces a mandatory sentence of 23 years in prison for the five counts of use of a firearm.

The detectives have asked for help in capturing the second suspect, and they have no description of him or the vehicle except that it was a small car.
