Audrey L. Greene

Audrey Lassiter Greene, 69, of Suffolk, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002.
Born on July 8, 1933, in Hobbsville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Ronnie Piland Lassiter.
Mrs. Greene was a member of Warwick Baptist Church
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Harrison Greene; daughter, Carol Benton, her husband Kenneth, of Suffolk; sisters, Virginia Knight and Nellie L. Goodwin of Suffolk, and Mary L. Bunch of Barton, Md.; brothers, Charlie E. Lassiter of Suffolk, and William G. Lassiter of Tyner, N.C.; grandchildren, Lena Sykes, Crystal Benton and Duane Benton; and great-grandson, James Benton.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Carter Dey, with burial in Nansemond-Suffolk Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
William L. White
William L. White, 75, of 330 Roanoke Ave., Suffolk, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2002, at his residence. He was a native of North Carolina and the son of the late Louis and Cula Porter White.
He was a member of Star of Sharon Lodge No. 231, and had retired from Planters Peanut Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ethel M. White; two sisters, Lucille Simms and Pecola Patrick, both of Hampton; three stepchildren, Edward Daniels, William Hicks and Samuel Savage, all of Suffolk; one aunt, Otelia Porter of Suffolk; a sister-in-law, Catherine Jordan of Suffolk; four step-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Sixth Street Baptist Church by the Rev. John Henry Jordan. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mary P. Wiggins
Mary P. Wiggins, 67, of 328 Pinner St., Suffolk, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2002, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Nansemond County, she was a daughter of the late Hezekiah and Sarah Jones Perry, and the widow of Johnnie Wiggins. A son, Robert Wiggins, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Leisa Wiggins, Deborah Wiggins (John Elliott) and Carrie Jennings (Lamont Jennings); one son, Thomas Wiggins of Baskerville; seven sisters, Jackless Wethington, Gloria Wilkins (Maryland Wilkins), Betty Bagley (James Henry), Juanita Dildy (James Dildy), Frances Everett (James Everett), and Virgia Perry, all of Suffolk, and Pearly Anne Pearson of Gates, N.C.; five brothers, Clinton Perry of Waverly, Phillip White Sr. of New Haven, Conn.; and Richard White, Otis White and Collin White, Jr., all of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Crocker Funeral Home by the Rev. Linwood Daughtrey. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
