Priscilla and Dwight Mills and Anthony R. Barnes announce the engagement of their daughter, Tenesha Levita Harden, to Abe Crawford Applewhite of Suffolk.

Mr. Applewhite is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Applewhite of Sunbury, N.C.

Miss Harden is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harden Sr., Mrs. Shirley W. Barnes and the step-granddaughter of Mrs. Lee Ellen Mills, all of Suffolk. She is also the goddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William DeMary of Suffolk and Mrs. Tenita Jordan of Houston, Texas.

Mr. Applewhite is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Applewhite and Mrs. Sallye Simms. He is also the godson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Palham, all of Suffolk.

Miss Harden is a 1998 graduate of Lakeland High School, and a 2002 graduate of the Suffolk Beauty Academy.

Mr. Applewhite is also a 1998 graduate of Lakeland High School, and a 2002 graduate of Fayetteville Community College. He is also a volunteer firefighter for the Holland area

The wedding will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 in St. Mary COGIC, Nansemond Parkway. The reception will be held at the Holland Community House, Holland.

The couple will honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico.

Upon returning the couple will continue to reside in the Holland section of Suffolk.
