Clyde Bradley, vice president of the Booker T. Washington Alumni Association, is challenging other alumni groups to match its $100 donation.

The association met Saturday afternoon in Fire Station No. 3 on White Marsh Road to take care of very important business along with the decision to help 1,653 underprivileged children have a good Christmas. The majority voted to make this donation in the memory of deceased members.

The alumni’s semi-annual reunion will be held in July 2003, and at that time all health care workers will be honored or remembered.

On Monday we realized that the community is really coming out to support our cause. We at the News- Herald and volunteers with the Toys for Tot program are sincerely grateful.

The large total that was taken up today is pushing up nearer to the goal of $37,151 for the year 2002.
