The Suffolk Lady Warriors 12-and-under softball tournament team is looking for

Bennetts Creek to hold signups Jan 18, 25
The Bennetts Creek little League will be holding signups for T-ball, coach’s pitch, and fast-pitch softball and baseball teams for the Spring 2003 season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 18 and 25 at Driver Elementary School. Players must be born before Aug. 1, 1998.
The cost is $45, and birth certificates and proof of residency will be required for first-time registrants. For more information, call 538-0974 or 538-3294.
Parks and Rec. Dept. to sponsor teen league
The Suffolk Parks and Rec. department is sponsoring a Teen Basketball League for youths age 14-17. Deadline for registration is 2 p.m., Feb. 8. Entry fee is $200 per team. Proof of age for each player and a tentative roster is due by the deadline.
Parks and Rec. Dept. to host Church league
The Suffolk Parks and Rec. Dept. is sponsoring an Adult Church Basketball League. All players must be a member of the church, temple, or mosque, which is entering a team, and also be 18 years of age or older. Churches, temples and mosques can join to form one team. The cost is $300 per team and the registration deadline is Feb. 7. Games start on Feb. 24.
Parks and Rec. Dept. to hold women’s league
The Suffolk Parks and Rec. department is sponsoring a Women’s Basketball League. Deadline for registration is 5 p.m. on Feb. 28. Entry fee is $300 per team, and up to eight teams with 10 players each will be accepted. A tentative roster is due by the deadline.
Coaches meeting will be held at Birdsong Recreation Center at 6:30 p.m. on Feb 3. For more information, call Tameka Dillard at 923-2366.
Local YMCA to hold ‘Teens’ Night Out’ Friday
The Suffolk YMCA will be holding a &uot;Teen’s Night Out&uot; event from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. The event is open for locals age 13-17, and will offer swimming, arcade games, gym use, dancing, basketball and movies. For more information, contact YMCA program director Anna Stevens at 934-9622.
