Albert F. Neal, 70, passed away on April 22, 2012, after a courageous battle with an illness. He was a native of Elizabeth City, N.C., and the son of the late Clyde and Lucy Neal and former husband of the late Mamie Neal.

He was a member of East End Baptist Church in Suffolk.

He is survived by a daughter, Shayla Hurst (Thyer), of Houston, Texas; one granddaughter, Thalia Hurst; his very devoted and loving friend, Murdly C. Hicks, of Suffolk; seven sisters and four brothers, Willa, Charlotte, Barbara, Carolyn, Gwendolyn, Laura, Karen, Clyde Jr., Melvin, Thomas and Michael; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2012, at East End Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Mark A. Croston. A wake will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
