William S. Hobbs

William S. &uot;Billy&uot; Hobbs, 81, of Spring Hill, Fla., died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003.
Born in Suffolk, he was a son of the late Gelon S. Hobbs and Anna Cope Hobbs.
He graduated from Suffolk High School, and excelled in football, baseball and wrestling.
During World War II, he served from 1942 to 1945 with the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific.
Retired from the dry cleaning business, he had lived in Florida for the past 21 years.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hollowell Hobbs; two sisters, Antoinette H. James of Richmond and Mary H. Draper of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, James C. Hobbs of Richmond, and G.S. Hobbs Jr. of Suffolk; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service arrangements are pending by Turner Funeral Home and Crematorium, Spring Hill.
