Nansemond River’s softball team was solid in all aspects of the game on Friday en route to a 10-0 win over Indian River.
The Lady Warriors’ biggest issues in their losses this season have been fielding and not being able to produce runs when needed.
Their play was exceptional in both areas against the Lady Braves. NR committed just one fielding error to back up Sydney Glover’s one-hit shutout effort.
The Lady Warriors’ offense was on fire, as teammates recorded a season high in runs (10) and hits (17).
The highlight of the game was Shelbi Holloman’s two-run home run. Holloman was 3 for 4 on the day, and she also had a triple.
The win was a big response to a dismal 13-0 loss to Grassfield on Tuesday.
The Lady Warriors will be in action next against Hickory. The Hawks are currently in first place in the Southeastern District.
