House of Delegates rep speaking at Obici clinical conference

A member of the Virginia House of Delegates will be the guest speaker at Obici Hospital’s 50th Annual Clinical Conference next week.

Del. John M. O’Bannon III, R-Henrico County, a neurologist and sleep disorder specialist in Richmond, will speak on, &uot;The Interface of Medicine and Politics,&uot; at 1:30 p.m. April 16.

Health care professionals and the public are invited to the free event, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at Kings Fork Middle School. Registration will be from 8:30-10 a.m.

Speakers include:

9:30 a.m.: Dr. Walter N. Malloy of the Medical College of Virginia, &uot;Dysmetabolic Syndrome.&uot;

10:15 a.m.: Dr. JoAnn V. Pinkerton of the University of Virginia, &uot;HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) Update.&uot;

11:15 a.m. Dr. Gerald B. Hickson of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., &uot;Patient Complaints and Malpractice Risk.&uot;

12 p.m.: Dr. James P. Lamberti of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., &uot;Advances in the Diagnosis and Management of Sepsis.&uot;

1:30 p.m.: Dr. O’Bannon.

Lunch will be served at 12:45 p.m.
