Landa’s Creations, along with the Angelic Steppers Praise Dancers at Tabernacle Baptist Church at 3621 Nansemond Parkway, wanted to do something significant to let troops overseas know that they care. So, they came up with a special project of creating personal and colorful pillows. Yolanda Little, proprietor of Landa’s Creations, will make the pillows, and said she can duplicate a serviceman’s family photograph or picture or any symbol or emblem onto the pillow to the serviceman’s satisfaction, and that all she needs is a sample or the picture to go by.

Each pillow will also have four bows with lace included to the color of the person’s choice or those famous American colors of red, white and blue.

Little said she and her husband Donald came up with this idea two weeks ago and talked to the Angelic Steppers Praise Dancers at their church.

&uot;We all then met with the pastor of the church, Rev. Nathaniel Scates. After that meeting, we agreed that this would be a good project to pursue since we have a deacon, Carl Hale, serving in the Navy on the Iwo Jima,&uot; said Little.

She can do five pillows a day and is willing to do them until the troops come home.

Andrea Scates, wife of the pastor’s grandson, is the president of the five praise dancers. Scates also said she wanted to do something for the troops to let them know that they are remembered, appreciated and loved for their cause.

&uot;We are always about helping a military family during this time of war,&uot; she said.

The pastor said that Little is a wonderful person, a good worker and recommends whatever she does 100 percent.
